Northern State Recreation Area :: Sedro Woolley, WA
The race is on a 2 mile course; 10' wide on rolling grass & gravel with runups and barriers. Skagit County Parks maintains the Northern State Recreation Area trails for middle & high school cross country meets and frisbee golf. It looks smooth and fast, but wet conditions will quickly bog you down and have you wishing for an easier gear.
This is part of the old Northern State (mental) Hospital - pretty appropriate for cyclocross racing in our typical fall weather. Registration will be inside the old barn adjacent to the start & finish lines. Bring a trainer and you can warmup inside if the weather gets crazy-nasty.
DIRECTIONS: From I-5, take exit 230. Alternately, from the north (Bellingham), take the Cook Rd. exit to bypass Burlington. Head east on State Hwy. 20 for 8.6 miles. Turn left onto Helmick Road and go north for 0.4 miles, parking on left.
PRE-REGISTRATION: Available HERE until Friday at 5pm
